System Actors Framework

System Actors represent the types of systems these entities have already deployed (or would likely be to deploy). Identifying the System Actors helps to explain where the use of Direct Secure Messaging technology fits for this scenario. These are the systems which will be expected to implement technical actors defined in this IG.

System Actors	Description
Edge system Sending Edge system Receiving Edge system	A system used by an Information Source, Information Recipient or any type of Intermediary System which sends and receives Direct Secure Messaging.
STA System Sending STA System Receiving STA System	A system operated by a HISP to provide the Message Transport services, Message Submission services, Message User services.
Intermediary System Sending Intermediary System Receiving Intermediary System	A system that acts as an Edge system and a STA System to relay messages from one STA system to another STA system.
